DATE & PECAN PORRIDGE

September 6, 2017
Honest Health Date Oatmeal

I am one of those people who completely loves autumn. It is my favourite season. The colours, the light, crisp air and comfy sweaters or jumpers to cuddle in.

One thing that I’ve struggled with is finding breakfasts that match my desire for cozy when I usually grab a bowl of granola or cereal in the morning or a simple slice of toast.

I have enjoyed oatmeal my whole life but I find that I get in a rut and it can become very dull and repetitive. Around this time last year, I stumbled upon a delicious recipe that not only is original but it is truly yummy. It can be served warm (which is how I prefer it) or because you can prepare it ahead of time you could equally enjoy it cold like an overnight oats situation.

Here is the link to the recipe over on Nutrition Stripped. McKel is a culinary inspiration and I have made quite a few of her recipes and I would highly recommend checking it out!

Which blogs do you love for healthy food inspiration and recipes? I’d love some recommendations.

Now, please excuse me as I go make myself a warm cup of cinnamon apple tea and cuddle under some blankets

Cheers to Autumn!

GLUTEN UPDATES- 1 WEEK IN!

Gluten Free Week 1 Brekky

It’s official. I have to break up with gluten on a full time basis. After doing one full week of eating gluten free, I had a slice of rye toast on Sunday to see if I’d notice a difference. I really wasn’t expecting any reaction after only a week, but within 5 mins of eating that slice of toast, I knew. Continue Reading

Happy Foodie Friday! It’s the yummiest day of the week for sure! A few weeks ago I was over at my friend Nicola’s house for some girl time, and she made this meal for us to enjoy. I cannot express how simple, quick and delicious this meal is. Not only that, but it’s a great veggie option to put into your meal rotation. It makes about 5 generous servings.
